THIS ARTICLE IS ONLY AVAILABLE IN GERMAN AT THE MOMENT. I’M SO BUSY RIGHT NOW THAT I HAVEN’T HAD TIME YET TO TRANSLATE IT. BUT I’M GOING TO, I PROMISE!

As this is a topic that concerns mainly Austrians, this article is only available in German. You can still scroll to the bottom and see which restaurants and cafés are taking part though, in case you’re currently in Vienna and want to join!

A Hobby in Spring: Sprouting

sprouting (3)
I’ve got a new hobby: sprouting! Sounds boring? Or complicated? I must say: neither nor! All you need is a jar or a sieve, seeds, water and some patience. You don’t even need green fingers, of which I’m really glad because it wouldn’t work as good as it does then. How to grow your own sprouts you can read in this article!

Quinoa Sushi Rolls and Mjam Sushi Master

sushi maki quinoa (4)
I’m not sure whether you’ve already got to know it, but I’m a huge fan of Asian cuisine. It hasn’t always been like that though. The first time I tried Asian food – I remember it was in a thai restaurant at Vienna’s Naschmarkt many years ago when I was about 13 years old – I found the mixture of sweet and sour aroma anything but delicious. I guess this was because I wasn’t used to this kind of taste. Although I’ve always been in favour of trying something new, it took me quite a while to get to like Asian food. By now, Asian cuisine and me have become very close friends, of which I’m really glad, as I’ld miss loads of good stuff if I didn’t eat anything Asian. The cherry on top of it all is, to cook good Asian food yourself. This is what today’s blog post is about, as I’m not only sharing a delicious and healthy recipe for vegan quinoa maki with you, but will introduce you to Mjam Sushi Master. Want to know what this is? Well, I guess you’ll need to go on reading then.

Vegan Rocket Pesto with Brazil Nuts and Where to Buy Vegan Pesto

pesto rocket with brazil nuts 1

Eating pesto when you’re vegan? If you have a look at supermarkets, you might have to walk away again because most of their pestos aren’t suitable. I’ve come to that point that I’m not sad anymore if something like this happens, because I rather have a look which green stuff I’ve got in the fridge, combine it with olive oil and make pesto myself. Sounds simple, is simple.

Warming Winter Breakfast Recipes

porridge with warm cinnamon apples (2)

Today it’s Christmas Day. Finally. Many of us have been awaiting this date for a very long time. The last years it’s always been the same in terms of weather: no snow on Christmas Eve. It finally got colder after Christmas holidays. Therefore, I thought I should put a list together including all breakfast ideas, that will make you feel warm on especially cold winter days and will give your body a good kick-start. I hope you’ll like my ideas and maybe there’ll be the chance to try the one or another recipe during Christmas break. Having a warming breakfast in my stomach (today I had yummy porridge with apple and roasted cinnamon nuts) I wish you all a very Merry Christmas with all your dearest people around you and relaxing holidays!

What To Make For Dinner on Christmas Eve? A Menu Suggestion

mushrooms portobello stuffed (10)

What are we eating on Christmas Eve? Most people would answer this with: the same as every year. In terms of food, many families celebrate Christmas always the same way. In my family, it’s aways been veal sausages with sauerkraut and potatoes. Well, of course that’s not true for me anymore, I’m fine with the siders. But if I could design the menu for Christmas Eve myself and renew it from bottom to the top, everything would be completely different. I’ld love to give you an insight into alternatives to traditional Christmas recipes – they are clearly focusing on meat or fish in Austria – that could be a highlight for all members of the family.
